OATMEAL RAISIN ENERGY BALLS w/ GREEK YOGURT

As the story goes – after the battle with the Titans, Zeus shared the world with his elder brothers, Poseidon and Hades by drawing lots: Zeus got the sky and air, Poseidon the waters, and Hades the underworld, where there are only chain restaurants and no Phatburn Studios. 

Their sister Gaia, however, got all of the oatmeal and all of the raisins and all of the yogurt. Being the creative she was, she concocted what is known as today as “oatmeal raisin energy” – thus, having the world by it’s #####.

None of the boys had a chance.

OATMEAL ENERGY BALLS w/ GREEK YOGURT

Ingredients

1 cup old fashion oats

1/4 cup raisins

1/4 cup almond butter (or nut butter of choice)

1/4 cup coarsley chopped walnuts

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup toasted coconut flakes

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Plain, nonfat Greek yogurt

Directions

Add all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir thoroughly and combine well.

Refrigerate mixture in refrigerator for 35 minutes.

Scoop out tablespoon sized portion of mixture and roll into balls, making about 12 energy balls.

Refrigerate oatmeal raisin balls for another 5 minutes.

Pair with Greek yogurt, and store remaining energy balls in fridge or freezer.
