WHAT IS BETTER TO DRINK, WINE OR VODKA?

This is one of the most asked questions I receive.

It’s the weekend and you know you are going to drink either at a BBQ, Dinner or Club….What should I drink, wine or vodka?

Here’s the skinny…Look at the chart below:

1 gram of Carbohydrates =  4 Calories
1 gram of Protein =4 Calories
1 gram of Fat= 9 Calories
1 gram of Alcohol = 7 Calories

Do you notice that alcohol has almost the same calories per gram as fat!!!!!

Amazing huh?

 

A shot and a half of vodka and a 4oz glass of wine are both about 80 calories.

Do you know anyone that drinks 4oz of wine and thats it?? I don’t. So the better choice would be to have the vodka as either a Martini or with a low calorie mixer.
If you choose to have the wine, try making a spritzer to keep those fat calories low!

A mojito and a margarita have 700 calories each. So stay away.

Just something to think about before you order your next drink.
